Iowa AAU Lillian Whiting Awards Banquet (Iowa AAU Outstanding Athlete Banquet) will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Marriott Downtown, 700 Grand Avenue, Des moines, IA.
The banquet begins at 12:00 p.m. with the presentation of awards followed by lunch. Awards will be presented in the sports of boys basketball, girls basketball, baseball, trampoline/tumbling, gymnastics, track and field, volleyball and wrestling.
Also presented is the Vic Young Award for the Iowa Outstanding Amateur Athlete.

Iowa AAU is sad to announce the passing of longtime AAU volunteer, Lee Pamulak.
Lee Pamulak, 65, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011, at his home in Indianola.
Lee was a very active integral part of the Iowa and National AAU Wrestling programs, serving as the Iowa AAU Wrestling sports chair and on National Committee for many years. Lee was instrumental in builiding the Iowa AAU Wrestling program to the largest in the AAU. Lee will be forever known as Mr. 6,000, having achieved this prestigious level of memberships under his watch over the past few years.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Martha; his sons, Russ and Mike both of West Des Moines, and sister Joyce Bruce of La Grange Park, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lottie Pamulak.
Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Overton Funeral Home, 501 West Ashland Avenue, Indianola, IA. where family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the Indianola Community Church, 14424 Kennedy Street.
